"That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:12 We will complete this little study on II Thessalonians 1:12-13 where Paul does, by recalling the awesome purpose that all of the previous discussion is working up to. Alexander Maclaren describes it like this, “A little mirror may not increase the sum-total of sunlight, but it may cause some otherwise unobservant eye to note its brightness. So Christ’s infinite and eternal glory cannot be augmented but only shared by Christians.” I think that most Christians realize that we ought to glorify God with our lives. However, I think that few ever notice that God says that we also are to be glorified “in him.” You see, our lives ought to make Jesus look good. However, His life lived through us should make us look good. As a matter of fact, one of these days, when we see Him face to face, “we shall be like Him.” Won’t we look good then! No more rot of sin to destroy us! No more guilt or worry to contort our faces! No more aches and pains sure, but no more struggle with sin! Hallelujah!
